Security forces in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica apprehended four Nicaraguan men on Wednesday following the seizure of a significant amount of ganja. 

The illicit cargo was discovered aboard a boat off the Jamaican coast.

Details of the incident 

The Jamaica Defence Force Coast Guard intercepted the suspicious vessel approximately four miles offshore. 

Head of the St. Elizabeth Police Division, Senior Superintendent Coleridge Minto reported that the vessel and its occupants were escorted to the pier in Black River.

The boat was searched, and the contraband was reportedly found in several large bags.

Following the discovery, operatives from the Area 3 Narcotics Team, alongside Scenes of Crime operatives, were summoned to the site.
