Jamaican Minister of Legal and Constitutional Affairs, Hon. Marlene Malahoo Forte, will join forces with Ambassador to the United States (US), Her Excellency Audrey P. Marks, in the upcoming edition of the monthly forum ‘Let’s Connect with Ambassador Marks’.

Diaspora engagement on constitutional reform

Scheduled for Wednesday (April 17) at 7:00 p.m., this event promises an engaging dialogue on crucial matters.

Minister Malahoo Forte, currently in Washington DC for the Parliamentary Network on the World Bank and IMF meetings, will leverage this opportunity to engage Jamaicans in the US.

The focus will be on the ongoing constitutional reform process aimed at transitioning Jamaica into a republic. Emphasis will be placed on clarifying the diaspora’s role in this transformative journey.

Interactive platform for Jamaican expats

‘Let's Connect with Ambassador Marks’ serves as a dynamic platform facilitating direct communication between the diaspora and Ambassador Marks.

It offers a forum for discussing topics of significance to the community while providing updates on governmental policies, programs, and embassy initiatives.

Diverse perspectives and guest speakers

The event routinely attracts a diverse array of participants, including Jamaican and US government officials, influential figures from local and international organizations, and prominent members of the Jamaican diaspora.

This convergence of perspectives enriches the discourse and fosters a deeper understanding of pertinent issues.

For those unable to attend in person, the forum will be accessible via Zoom and live-streamed on Ambassador Marks’ social media platforms.
