Miami-Dade County Supervisor of Elections Alina Garcia said the partnership aims to make voting more accessible and encourage young people to recognize the importance of participating in elections.
“By bringing the voting experience directly to our students, we are not only making voting more accessible, but also empowering a new generation of voters to recognize the importance of their voice and the responsibility that comes with casting a ballot,” Garcia said.
The program will feature keynote remarks from Heat leadership and legends, Garcia, the superintendent of Miami-Dade County Public Schools and Miami Dade College President Madeline Pumariega.
Organizers said the event will focus exclusively on civic education and voter participation, with no political candidates, campaigns or partisan activities included.
