The State Board of Education has announced its 2023-2024 Schools of Excellence list, with Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) standing out by representing 21% of the 774 schools awarded across Florida.

This recognition highlights the district's strong academic performance and commitment to educational excellence.

Notably, M-DCPS led among large urban school districts, achieving the highest proportion of Schools of Excellence among its peers statewide.

According to Section 1003.631(1)(a) of the Florida Statutes, a School of Excellence is determined based on a school’s performance, requiring earned points in school grade calculations to be in the 80th percentile or higher for similar grade groupings (elementary, middle, high, and combination) over at least two of the past three school years.

The attached list showcases the M-DCPS schools that have achieved this prestigious designation, reflecting the district’s dedication to maintaining high standards in education.
