Coral Gables Senior High School – $30 million
Silva Architects, LLC has been appointed as the Architect/Engineer of Record for the $30 million overhaul of Coral Gables Senior High, originally built in 1950. Situated on 25 acres and serving over 2,900 students, the school will see the demolition and replacement of Building 14 and existing basketball courts.
The project includes two new basketball and volleyball courts, a 30,000-square-foot gymnasium with a new entrance and covered walkways, a teacher planning office, updated staff restrooms, and custodial closets. The renovation is expected to be completed by September 2027.
Frances S. Tucker K-8 Center – $12.1 million
Wolfberg Alvarez and Partners, Inc. will lead a $12.1 million upgrade of Frances S. Tucker K-8 Center, built in 1960. The four-acre campus will receive a brand-new middle school building measuring approximately 17,395 square feet, which will add 128 student stations.
Plans also call for relocating the existing playground, constructing a new basketball court, remodeling administrative offices, upgrading the kitchen, and expanding parking. Completion is slated for August 2027.
Palm Springs Middle School – $7.1 million
H.A. Contracting Corp. was awarded the contract for a $7.1 million renovation at Palm Springs Middle School in Hialeah, built in 1957. The 19-acre school will undergo major updates, including replacement of windows, ceilings, and lighting in Building 3, as well as HVAC and electrical upgrades.
The cafeteria will get new windows, kitchen hoods, and air units, while the campus-wide fire alarm system and all safety signage will be replaced. Upgrades also include new stage lighting and a sound system in the auditorium, along with resurfaced outdoor play courts and new goal standards. Work is scheduled for completion by February 2027.
The investments reflect the district’s ongoing commitment to improving school facilities and delivering modern, safe, and high-quality environments for students and staff.
