Miami-Dade Elections Headquarters in Doral will remain open until 11:59 p.m. Monday, Oct. 5, to help eligible residents register to vote ahead of the Nov. 3 General Election.

The registration deadline is Oct. 5. The Elections Headquarters is located at 2700 NW 87th Ave. Staff will be available through midnight to assist residents who have not yet registered and answer questions about the voting process.

“Elections are the bedrock of our democracy, and every eligible citizen should have the opportunity to make their voice heard,” Supervisor of Elections Alina Garcia said. “We are keeping our doors open late so that no one misses the opportunity to register and participate in our democratic process.”

Garcia also noted that young people can pre-register to vote at age 16 and be ready to cast a ballot once they turn 18.

Registered voters will have three ways to vote in the general election: by mail, during early voting or on Election Day.

The deadline to request a vote-by-mail ballot is Oct. 22. Early voting will be available at 28 locations from Oct. 19 through Nov. 1. Election Day is Nov. 3.

“Your vote is your voice, your right and your opportunity to help shape the future of our community, our state and our nation,” Garcia said. “Our commitment is to conduct elections that are secure, accurate, transparent and accessible to every eligible voter.”

As election activity increases, residents may also see a greater law enforcement presence around Elections Headquarters and some of the busiest early voting locations.

According to Miami-Dade Elections, officers will assist with traffic and pedestrian management and help safeguard Elections Headquarters, where ballots are received and secured during the election period. Officers are not stationed inside polling places and do not participate in the voting process.

“We encourage all eligible citizens who are not yet registered to vote to do so,” Garcia said. “Election security, access, accuracy and transparency remain our top priorities. We want to ensure the voting process is safe and convenient for every voter.”

Residents can find voter registration information, election deadlines and other updates at www.votemiamidade.gov. Questions about voting by mail can be directed to 305-499-8444, while other election questions can be directed to 305-499-VOTE (8683).
