The church has owned the property for many years and has sought to develop affordable housing on-site.
Royal Pointe Apartments will feature 102 affordable units in a garden-style layout with up to three floors and one to three bedrooms per unit. Apartments will be available for income-qualifying residents; 17 units at 30% of the area median income (AMI), 38 units at 60% AMI, and 47 units at 70% AMI. Amenities will include a gated community, a clubhouse with a business center and a social room for meetings and celebrations, a children’s playground, and a fitness center.
Miami-Dade County funding for Royal Pointe Apartments totals $10,519,000, including $4,399,000 from Surtax, $510,000 from the Affordable Housing Trust Fund, and $2,860,000 from the HOME Program.
The estimated completion date for Royal Pointe Apartments is August 2026.
