Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) has secured an impressive achievement in the 2024-2025 National Magnet Merit Awards, with 91 awards in total, making it the top-performing district in the United States.

This marks the largest number of awards earned by any district in the nation. The recognition comes from Magnet Schools of America (MSA), a national organization that celebrates schools for their commitment to academic excellence, innovation, diversity, and community involvement.

M-DCPS received 59 Magnet Schools of Excellence merit awards and 32 Magnet Schools of Distinction merit awards. Among the 59 Magnet Schools of Excellence awards, 22 were designated as Top Magnet Schools of Excellence, further emphasizing the district’s leadership in education. Over the past 13 years, M-DCPS has accumulated a total of 708 Magnet Merit Awards, reflecting its consistent dedication to providing a high-quality, dynamic education.

“This milestone underscores M-DCPS’ unwavering commitment to fostering dynamic educational environments,” said a spokesperson from the district. “Our schools continue to be a top choice for students and families across Miami-Dade, offering an exceptional educational experience that aligns with the highest standards of excellence.”

The award-winning schools for the 2024-2025 cycle span a broad range of grade levels and specialties. Notable institutions recognized as Schools of Distinction include the Dr. Henry E. Perrine Academy of the Arts, George Washington Carver Elementary, and Miami Arts Studio 6-12 at Zelda Glazer. Meanwhile, iPreparatory Academy and Ben Sheppard Elementary School were among those receiving the coveted Schools of Excellence award.

Several schools also earned the prestigious title of Top Magnet Schools of Excellence, including North Dade Center for Modern Languages Elementary School, Frank C. Martin K-8 Center, and Young Men’s Preparatory Academy.

This recognition affirms Miami-Dade County Public Schools' role as a leader in creating educational environments where academic rigor and community involvement thrive. As the district continues to set the bar for excellence, it remains dedicated to nurturing the next generation of scholars, artists, and leaders.
