The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office identified the victims as Rolando Aleman Leon, 55; Yoel Rodriguez Naranjo, 53; Julio C. Pineda, 75; Carlos Acosta Fajardo, 53; and Javierkys Reyes Quevedo, 47.
The crash occurred at approximately 1:58 p.m. Sept. 6 near Northwest 67th Avenue and North Perimeter Road, just west of the airport, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue personnel responding to the scene found several people dead and others injured. Two people remained in critical condition, while another was listed in stable condition.
The two pilots, identified as Jaime Felipe Silva Molina, 37, and Joseph Carol, 55, suffered minor injuries and were released.
The Sheriff’s Office Homicide Bureau is leading the death investigation and is working with local and federal agencies as authorities continue to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash.
