Miami-Dade announces key dates, early voting locations for 2026 general election

Miami-Dade County election officials are urging voters to begin preparing for the 2026 general election, with the voter registration deadline just over a month away and early voting set to begin Oct. 19.

The general election will be held Tuesday, Nov. 3, with polls open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., according to the Miami-Dade County Office of the Supervisor of Elections.

“Every election is an opportunity for your voice to be heard, and we want to make sure every Miami-Dade voter has the information needed to participate,” Miami-Dade Supervisor of Elections Alina Garcia said. “Whether you vote during Early Voting, by mail or on Election Day, we encourage you to make your plan now and make your voice count.”

The deadline to register to vote in the election is Monday, Oct. 5.

Voters who plan to cast their ballots by mail have until 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, to request a vote-by-mail ballot. Completed mail ballots must be received by 7 p.m. on Election Day.

Vote-by-mail ballots can be returned to the Elections Department headquarters in Doral or its downtown branch office. During the early voting period, voters may also drop off mail ballots at secure ballot intake stations at any early voting site.

Early voting will run from Monday, Oct. 19, through Sunday, Nov. 1, with voting available from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day.

Election officials noted that some early voting locations have been temporarily relocated and encouraged voters to confirm location information before heading to the polls.

Miami-Dade County will have 755 precincts and 516 polling locations for the general election.

Officials are also encouraging residents to verify their voter registration status and Election Day polling location in advance.
