March to keep families together today in Homestead

The Trump administration has reopened a 1,000-bed Homestead facility that once housed minors who entered the country looking for a better life, reviving a compound at a time when the White House is under fire for a new policy that separates children from parents detained by immigration authorities.

On Friday, community leaders and elected representatives were turned away for what was a planned tour of the facility.

Join a coalition of community organizers (ACLU of Florida, American Friends Service Committee- Miami, Coral Gables Congregational United Church of Christ, Florida Immigrant Coalition, Friends of Miami-Dade Detainees, Instituto Jesuita Pedro Arrupe, Miami DSA, MUJER, Inc, The New Florida Majority, NCJW Miami, RiseUp Florida, St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, Temple Beth Am, Miami, United We Dream, WeCount, SAVE, CAIR Florida, Emgage, United Teachers of Dade (UTD), The Women's Fund Miami, Women Working Together USA, Mothers Fighting For Justice, Temple Sinai, Galvanize Miami, & Beth David Congregation) to STOP THE DETENTION CAMPS and KEEP FAMILIES TOGETHER.

The marchers will convene today at June 23rd at 4:00PM at the corner of 288th Street and 137th Ave, Homestead, Florida 33030 for a march to the center.
