Lauderhill woman wins lotto, becomes millionaire from Publix ticket

A mere scratch-off ticket transformed the life of a  woman from Lauderhill, South Florida. 

The Florida Lottery’s latest announcement on Tuesday confirmed the woman’s jackpot win in the “$1,000,000 A Year for Life Spectacular” game.

Opting for a lump sum

Reports are that the 43-year-old chose to claim her prize as a one-time, lump-sum payment, pocketing $640,000 of the total $1 million prize.

Publix’s winning streak

The golden ticket was not just lucky for her.

 Publix, located at 5855 West Oakland Park Boulevard in Lauderhill, where she secured her winning ticket, also reaps rewards. 

The store will get a bonus of $2,000 commission for selling the winning ticket.
