The City of Lauderdale Lakes has completed a major enhancement project at Willie Webb Park, marking a significant investment in recreational opportunities for residents.

Funded through the Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Florida Recreation Development Assistance Program (FRDAP), the project ensures the park will remain a safe and accessible community space for at least the next 25 years.

“We are thrilled to bring this important community project to completion,” said Acting City Manager Venice Howard. “Willie Webb Park will serve as a valuable recreational resource for our community, and we’re grateful for the partnership with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection that made this vision a reality.”

The upgrades include a renovated picnic pavilion for family gatherings, a resurfaced basketball court with new fencing, and extensive restroom improvements to enhance accessibility and comfort. New landscaping was also installed, along with upgraded gym equipment to promote fitness.

 

Located at 3601 NW 21st Street, Willie Webb Park has long been a hub for the city’s strong Jamaican community, which also has representation among local elected officials. City leaders said the improvements reflect Lauderdale Lakes’ ongoing commitment to quality of life and outdoor recreation.
