The newest addition to the KFC Jamaica network officially opened in Salem, St Ann on Sunday, as Restaurants of Jamaica Limited (ROJ) expanded the fast-food brand’s footprint in the parish with its latest location.
By opening day, the restaurant was already attracting steady interest from residents, commuters, and loyal customers eager to experience the brand’s newest outlet in St Ann. For many, the launch represented more than just a new dining option—it signaled improved convenience, new employment opportunities, and another marker of commercial activity in the growing Salem area.
The new restaurant represents a $285 million investment by ROJ and becomes KFC Jamaica’s sixth location in St Ann and its 44th islandwide. It also generated 45 new jobs, with staff recruited from Salem and surrounding communities.
Strategically located to serve both local residents and commuters, the Salem outlet is expected to improve service efficiency across KFC’s expanding St Ann network. It adds another drive-thru option in the parish, joining existing locations at Drax Hall and Eight Rivers Plaza in Ocho Rios. Customers also have access to in-store self-service kiosks designed to speed up ordering.
KFC Jamaica Marketing Manager Andrei Roper said the opening reflects the company’s continued push beyond the Kingston Metropolitan Region.
“Salem is a very significant addition for us because it speaks to how and where Jamaica is growing,” he said. “This is not only about opening another restaurant. It is about meeting customers closer to where they live, work and travel, while continuing to invest in communities across Jamaica.”
He added that the response on opening day underscored the brand’s strong local following.
“There is always a special energy when we open a new KFC location, and Salem was no different,” Roper said. “Seeing customers come out to share in the moment reminds us that KFC is part of everyday life for so many Jamaicans. We are proud to now serve even more families, residents and visitors in this part of St Ann.”
For newly recruited team members, the opening also marked the start of a new chapter as they stepped into service for the first time, guiding customers, preparing orders, and managing the steady flow of drive-thru traffic.
Following a successful soft launch, the Salem restaurant now joins ROJ’s growing islandwide network, further expanding access to the brand in St Ann while contributing to ongoing investment and job creation outside the Kingston Metropolitan Region.
