Blake joins a growing list of Jamaican athletes previously featured in KFC campaigns, including footballer Leon Bailey, striker Khadija “Bunny” Shaw, and track and field talent Jaydon Hibbert. His addition further strengthens the brand’s ties to national sport at a time when anticipation is building around the upcoming World Cup cycle.

As captain of the Reggae Boyz, Blake has long been a central figure in Jamaican football. He has represented the national team across multiple Concacaf Gold Cup tournaments, including appearances in 2015 and 2017 when Jamaica reached the final. His standout performances in 2017 earned him the tournament’s Golden Glove award.

At club level, Blake plays for Philadelphia Union in Major League Soccer, where he has built a decorated career. He was the first goalkeeper ever selected as the number one overall pick in the MLS SuperDraft and has since earned multiple MLS Goalkeeper of the Year honours, solidifying his reputation as one of the league’s elite shot-stoppers.

KFC Jamaica’s marketing manager, Andrei Roper, said Blake embodies qualities that align closely with the brand.

“Andre Blake is a true reflection of excellence, discipline and national pride,” Roper said. “He has represented Jamaica with distinction, carried himself with humility and professionalism, and consistently shown what it means to lead at the highest level.”

Roper added that Blake’s influence on and off the pitch made him a natural fit for the partnership, highlighting his leadership and commitment to inspiring younger generations.

Blake said the partnership reflects a personal connection to the brand and Jamaican culture.

“KFC is a brand that has always been part of my household and a big part of Jamaican culture, so I’m excited to be on board,” he said. “This partnership gives me another opportunity to connect with fans and continue making a positive impact across Jamaica.”
