JFF to disburse outstanding payments to Reggae Girlz
On Thursday, members of the Reggae Girlz squad and staff are poised to receive long-awaited payments from the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF).
The local governing body of football is finally taking steps to settle some of the outstanding debts owed to both parties.
Since the Reggae Girlz returned from their impressive World Cup campaign, there has been a lingering issue concerning unpaid incentives and bonuses. While the players had already received their post-tax bonuses for the team’s commendable performance in reaching the World Cup second round, there are additional entitlements yet to be distributed.
JFF Gen-Sec confirms outstanding payments are ready
Dennis Chung, the general secretary of the JFF, has confirmed that these outstanding amounts are now ready for disbursement.
However, it’s worth noting that the 20 per cent share that the players had agreed to receive from the World Cup participation funds will not be part of this Thursday’s payment. Chung clarified that this particular percentage will not be made available just yet. Nonetheless, the 15 per cent designated for the coaching staff will also be included in the payments scheduled for Thursday.
This development marks a significant step towards resolving the financial matters surrounding the Reggae Girlz, acknowledging their achievements and contributions to Jamaica football.
