A member of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) is under investigation following a report of rape and robbery while he was on duty in St. Elizabeth.

Reports are that the incident occurred on Monday night.

The officer and three other cops who were on duty with him are in custody.

According to the JCF, the report is being treated with the highest urgency by the Police High Command.

The Inspectorate and Professional Standards Oversight Bureau (IPROB) of the JCF, the Centre for the Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse (CISOCA), and the Independent Commission of Investigations are actively investigating the case (INDECOM).

The JCF is seeking to assure citizens that such charges are treated seriously and it is dedicated to ensuring they are safe.
