Jaydon Hibbert’s Leaps and Bounds Foundation grants scholarships to KC students

Jaydon Hibbert, renowned World U20 triple Jjump record holder and alumnus of Kingston College, has demonstrated his commitment to supporting education by establishing the Leaps and Bounds Foundation.
The foundation's inaugural initiative saw the awarding of scholarships to five deserving students at his alma mater.
In a ceremony held at Kingston College's grounds last Thursday, Hibbert presented a generous donation of $780,000 to the school's Principal, Dave Myrie. The scholarships, valued at $156,000 each, will cover tuition fees, books, and other expenses for a full academic year, offering vital support to the recipients.

Among the scholarship recipients are notable athletes Aaron McKenzie and Daquan Dawkins, who represented Kingston College at the Boys Athletics Championships, contributing to the school's 35th title victory. Additionally, second-form students Jehu Green, Joshua Lewin, and Ricadeen Wilkins were also selected as beneficiaries of the scholarships.
Reflecting on his alma mater's influence on his philanthropic values, Hibbert expressed gratitude for the opportunity to give back to the institution that played a significant role in shaping his character. He emphasized the Leaps and Bounds Foundation's commitment to empowering youth through educational opportunities, with plans to provide scholarships annually.
Addressing the scholarship recipients, Hibbert offered words of encouragement, urging them to remain focused, humble, and grateful for the opportunities afforded to them. His message underscored his belief in their potential for personal growth and success within the Kingston College community.
Myrie commended Hibbert for his generosity
Principal Dave Myrie commended Hibbert for his generosity and inclusivity in extending scholarships beyond the athletic sphere. He highlighted Jaydon's academic achievements during his time at Kingston College, emphasizing the pride the institution takes in his accomplishments both on and off the field.
Hibbert also expressed gratitude to his sponsor, Puma, for their support of his foundation's endeavors, expressing hope for continued collaboration in uplifting future generations through education.
