"The community of Tampa is really looking forward to it but we've also seen tickets being sold as far as Detroit and a lot of people from New York are coming. The whole diaspora knows Dream Weekend and travels to Jamaica for the event normally. The event on the island is about 65% international patrons from New York, South Florida, Atlanta and even London" he said.
The Tampa event is the first Dream Weekend to be held outside of Jamaica.
Dream Weekend Tampa will feature two events - on Friday, February 5 and Saturday, February 6 at the Dunns River Island Cafe, 11154 N 30th St, Tampa, FL 33612.
The first event, Dream Wknd Jersey Party, will feature Dancehall artist Konshens while the second, YUSH, will feature Baby Cham and Red Rat, with a host of deejays.
Dunn says that COVID-19 safety protocols will be in place at the event. "We're not putting the venue at capacity because we want to enforce social distancing."
