Jamaican Politician Lennox Hines Shot and Killed

This marks the second time a politician from the division has been killed.

A similar tragedy took place in May 2022, when Lennox Hines, a council member, and caretaker for the division representing the Jamaica Labour Party, was shot and killed on Marcus Garvey Drive in Kingston.

It was reported that armed men opened fire on Hines as he was in his sports utility vehicle in traffic close to the Tinson Pen Aerodrome.

Sources indicate that Hines was waiting in traffic when two men rode up on a bike and opened fire on him before they fled the scene.
