Jamaica's Under-16 netball team continued their reign over rivals Trinidad and Tobago with a commanding 42-16 win in the final match of the two-game Island Vibes Tournament series, held at the Leila Robinson Courts in Kingston on Sunday.
The victory sealed a perfect weekend for the Jamaican side, who had already claimed a 40-13 win in the first encounter last Friday.
Kaelyn-Kendra Smith, the standout goal shooter, spearheaded Jamaica’s offense with a stellar performance, scoring 25 goals from 27 attempts. Her sharp shooting helped the home team surge to an 11-4 lead after the first quarter, which they built on in the second quarter, heading into halftime with a dominant 23-7 advantage.
Maintained control
T&T netted seven goals in the third quarter, their strongest showing, but Jamaica maintained control and extended their lead to 33-14. In the final quarter, the hosts wrapped up the game in style, scoring nine more goals to seal the emphatic 42-16 triumph.
