The Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) has once again been recognized as the International Tourism Board Providing the Best Travel Advisor Support at the TravelAge West WAVE Awards, held June 4 at The Ritz-Carlton in Marina del Rey, California.
The win marks the 14th time Jamaica has received the honor in the 21-year history of the awards, underscoring what officials describe as a sustained and trusted relationship with travel advisors in the United States.
The WAVE (Western Agents’ Votes of Excellence) Awards are determined by votes from U.S. travel advisors, alongside TravelAge West readers, and recognize leading suppliers and destinations across more than 70 categories. The advisor-support category is especially significant as it reflects the direct feedback of agents who regularly recommend and sell Jamaica to clients.
“For the fourteenth time, the travel advisors of the United States have placed their trust in Jamaica, and we receive that vote of confidence with deep gratitude,” said Tourism Minister Hon. Edmund Bartlett. “Behind every booking is an advisor who has chosen to put our island forward to their clients. This award belongs as much to them as it does to us. It signals to the world that when travelers seek an unforgettable Caribbean experience, the professionals they rely on think of Jamaica first.”
Director of Tourism Donovan White said the recognition carries added weight because it comes directly from the advisor community.
“This category is decided by the people who know our product best, so the recognition is one we value above almost any other,” White said. “It reflects the work our sales and marketing teams do every day—the training, prompt service, and genuine partnership that ensure advisors can sell destination Jamaica with confidence. As we continue to expand our airlift and deepen our presence across the U.S. market, that close relationship with the trade remains central to our strategy.”
The United States remains Jamaica’s largest source market, with travel advisors continuing to play a central role in driving visitor arrivals. The latest WAVE recognition further reinforces Jamaica’s position as one of the Caribbean’s most consistently trusted and in-demand destinations.
