Reggae stars Luciano and Everton Blender to perform in Malawi
In a stirring showcase of international reggae prowess, Jah Kings Promotions is gearing up to host the much-anticipated “Jah Kings Reggae Jam Festival” in Malawi.
The event promises electrifying performances from reggae stalwarts, Luciano and Everton Blender, both of whom hail from the reggae heartbeat, Jamaica.
The festival is set to take place on 28 October 2023 at Gland Business Park in Lilongwe.
Spotlight on star performers
Everton Blender, renowned for his sublime tenor vocals and spirited up-tempo beats, offers listeners themes filled with spiritual upliftment.
On the other hand, Luciano has solidified his place in the reggae pantheon with chart-topping hits like “Lord Give Me the Strength”, “Sweep over My Soul” and “It’s Me Again”, among other reggae hits.

More than just music: Supporting a noble cause
During a recent press briefing in Lilongwe, Zilanie Gondwe of Jah Kings Promotions highlighted the festival’s altruistic side.
The event stands firm in its commitment to aid the National Nyahbinghi Council of Malawi (NNC).
Gondwe shared that the goal is to raise funds for the construction of the Nyahbinghi Rastafarian Tabernacle in Kawale, Lilongwe.
Local luminaries like The Black Missionaries Band, Blasto, Don Tarz, Queen Fyah, and Chizmo will also perform, celebrating the rich tapestry of reggae in Malawi.
A celebration of unity and musical excellence
Gondwe emphasized the festival’s dual mission: celebrating reggae music and cementing unity amongst its aficionados.
“This is a movement designed to celebrate reggae music and foster unity among reggae enthusiasts. This concert also aims to create international exposure by uniting artists from Jamaica (The Reggae Motherland) and Malawi (The Warm Heart of Africa) while supporting the Rastafari Movement’s call for financial backing in its socio-economic development endeavors,” she said

For Gondwe, the festival represents more than just musical revelry. It's about putting Malawi on the global reggae map. Furthermore, Gondwe shared that attending signifies a profound appreciation and love for the Rastafarian community and the musical genre itself.
The event has garnered the backing of several sponsors, with Richard Chisala of Ultinets expressing their unequivocal support. Chisala and his team are passionate and committed to ensuring the festival's grand success.
