Two teenage brothers in Florida are facing charges following a tragic incident that unfolded on Christmas Eve, resulting in the fatal shooting of their sister.

Reports are that the incident occurred during a dispute over Christmas presents.

Christmas Eve tragedy

According to reports, 23-year-old Abrielle Baldwin was shot in the chest by her 14-year-old brother while she had her 11-month-old son in a carrier.

The boy was then shot by his 15-year-old brother who took out his own gun.

Deadly argument over presents

According to reports, the dispute between the brothers stemmed from a quarrel over the distribution of Christmas presents.

As tensions escalated, Abrielle Baldwin, in an attempt to mediate, found herself tragically caught in the crossfire.

Law enforcement’s response

Sheriff Bob Gualtieri held a news conference to address the incident, shedding light on the details of the case.

He reported that the older brother fled the scene and discarded his weapon.

The boy now faces charges of attempted first-degree murder and tampering with evidence.

Younger brother’s charges

Meanwhile, the younger brother, who sustained injuries during the altercation, was rushed to the hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.

However, he faces a slew of charges, including murder, child abuse, and possessing a firearm.

Local prosecutors are currently reviewing the case to determine whether he will be charged as an adult.
