Hibbert Withdraws From Triple Jump Final

It was further disappointment for the Jamaican track and field contingent as gold medal contender Jaydon Hibbert was forced to withdraw from the men's triple jump final due to injury.

The 18-year-old who qualified for the final with the farthest jump of 17.70m two days ago and appeared set to claim a medal at his first global senior championship, appeared to hurt his hamstring on his first effort.

It had to be aborted with the teenager holding on to the back of his leg. He sought medical attention and took no further part.
