Guyana’s Millington shines with 4-wicket haul, secures victory against Trinidad in Women’s T20 Blaze

Off-spinner Plaffianna Millington delivered a superb bowling performance, claiming four wickets for just five runs from 3.3 overs, as Guyana secured a comfortable seven-wicket victory over Trinidad and Tobago in the Women's T20 Blaze on Sunday.
Opting to bat first at Warner Park, Trinidad and Tobago faced early setbacks and were bundled out for a paltry 66 runs in the penultimate over of their innings.
Millington's remarkable spell played a pivotal role in Guyana's dominant display with the ball.
In response, Guyana's opener Shabika Gajnabi anchored the chase with an unbeaten 24 runs off 31 deliveries. Gajnabi formed crucial partnerships with Sheneta Grimmond (4) and Realeanna Grimmond (13), laying a solid foundation for Guyana's pursuit of the modest target.
Slumped to 33 for six
Captain Shemaine Campbelle's aggressive cameo towards the end, scoring 19 runs off just nine balls, hastened Guyana's victory as they reached their target with nine overs to spare.
Trinidad and Tobago's batting woes were evident from the start, as they slumped to 33 for six and failed to recover. Millington made crucial breakthroughs early in the innings, dismissing West Indies star and captain Britney Cooper for just two runs in the second over.
Continuing her impressive form, Millington struck again in her next over, claiming the wickets of Djenaba Joseph and LeeAnn Kirby without conceding a run. Her relentless accuracy and skilful bowling left Trinidad and Tobago reeling at 10 for four, setting the tone for Guyana's comprehensive victory.
