Guyana to end walk-in passport applications starting October 1

Under the new system, applicants will be able to complete their passport application forms online and choose the passport office, date and time for the in-person portion of the process.
“That in itself allows you, the applicant, in the application process to choose which one of the passport offices you want to do your application at, at a date and a time that is convenient to you,” Telford said.
Appointments can be booked through the Guyana Police Force’s online passport portal at pp.gpf.gov.gy.
The appointment system will apply at all seven passport offices across Guyana, including locations at Camp Street, Leonora, Anna Regina and Berbice.
Authorities said the change is intended to make the application process more convenient while reducing overcrowding at passport offices.
Passport processing typically takes three working days. An expedited service is also available for applicants seeking passports within 24 hours, while in some circumstances documents can be processed in as little as 30 minutes.
The new requirement takes effect Oct. 1, after which applicants who have not made an online appointment will no longer be able to walk into passport offices to submit applications.
