Grenada Diaspora Homecoming 2026 officially welcomed returning nationals and invited guests with a special reception at Belmont Estate, marking the start of a two-week initiative aimed at reconnecting Grenadians abroad with their homeland.

Hosted by Foreign Affairs, Trade and Export Development Minister Joseph Andall, the reception brought together members of the Grenadian diaspora, government officials, local partners, community representatives and other stakeholders.

The event served as the opening activity for Grenada Diaspora Homecoming 2026, a national initiative designed to strengthen ties between Grenadians at home and abroad through cultural experiences, community engagement, investment discussions, professional exchanges and national development initiatives.

Addressing attendees, Andall emphasized the important role of the diaspora in Grenada's growth and development.

"Grenada's diaspora has always been part of the national story," Andall said. "This Homecoming gives us an opportunity to welcome our nationals back not only with celebration, but with purpose. It allows us to deepen the relationship between Grenadians at home and abroad, to strengthen the ties of identity and belonging, and to explore how that connection can continue to support Grenada's development in meaningful and lasting ways."

Ambassador for Diaspora Affairs Terrance Forrester said the initiative is intended to foster meaningful reconnection and collaboration among Grenadians worldwide.

"Grenada Diaspora Homecoming is about more than return. It is about reconnection with intention," Forrester said. "The diaspora represents an extraordinary network of talent, influence, expertise and possibility. When we create spaces for Grenadians at home and abroad to meet, exchange ideas and experience the country together, we are opening doors for collaboration, investment, advocacy and long-term national value."

Organizers said the reception highlighted Grenadian hospitality and culture while setting the tone for a series of activities scheduled across Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique.

The program includes cultural experiences, community initiatives, island excursions, a Diaspora Forum and Marketplace, National Spice Replanting Day and other events designed to encourage reconnection, collaboration and national pride.

Grenada Diaspora Homecoming 2026 runs from June 21 through July 5.
