Grammy-winning reggae singer Gramps Morgan has hit a new career milestone—his solo track “If You’re Looking for Me” has been featured in Tyler Perry’s latest Netflix release, Madea’s Destination Wedding.

The inclusion of the uplifting, country-reggae fusion marks the first time Morgan has had a solo song placed in a film. While his family band, Morgan Heritage, has had music featured in movies like Coming 2 America, this marks a personal breakthrough for the artist.

“If You’re Looking for Me” is one of the standout tracks from Morgan’s 2021 album Positive Vibration, a project born out of the emotional depths of the COVID-19 pandemic. Reflecting on the song’s journey, Morgan shared that Tyler Perry Studios reached out directly to his record label, Halo Entertainment, to secure the placement.

“The opportunity came about by Tyler Perry Studios reaching out to Halo Entertainment, my record company who helped put out the song—even though it was taken from the album entitled Positive Vibration,” he said in an interview wirth Dancehall Mag.

Madea’s Destination Wedding, which premiered on Netflix on July 11, is the thirteenth installment in Perry’s Madea film series. With Perry once again stepping into the role of the no-nonsense Mabel “Madea” Simmons, the film blends comedy and family drama—now with a touch of reggae on the soundtrack.

For Morgan, the feature is more than a personal win—it’s a chance for reggae music to connect with new audiences through mainstream cinema.
