Jamaica’s Olympic and world champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and United States sprinter Sha’Carri Richardson are to face off at the Botswana Golden Grand Prix.

The event which will be held in  Gaborone on April 29, will be this year’s second World Athletics Continental Tour Gold meeting.

It will also be the first meeting between Fraser-Pryce and Richardson since last September’s women’s 100m at the Diamond League Final in Zurich, Switzerland.

Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce won the race in 10.65 while Richardson finished seventh in that race, in 11.13.

Kirani James and Ferdinand Omanyala are also expected to compete in Botswana, in the men's 400m and 100m, respectively.

James, who is from Grenada completed a set of world 400m medals in Oregon last year. He claimed silver to go with his 2011 gold and 2015 bronze.

Meanwhile, Kenya’s Omanyala claimed Commonwealth Games and African 100m titles in 2022.
