Four Miami-Dade Schools named among nation’s top 100

Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) continues to earn national recognition for academic excellence, with four of its high schools ranked among the Top 100 Best High Schools in the United States, according to U.S. News & World Report’s 2025 list released this week.

The district also led Florida with 17 schools among the state’s Top 100, and a total of 58 traditional and magnet schools earning spots on the annual ranking.

Nationally, U.S. News & World Report evaluated nearly 25,000 public, magnet, and charter schools across the country, ranking 17,901 of them based on six weighted criteria. These included college readiness, curriculum breadth, state assessment performance, outcomes for underserved students, and graduation rates.

The four M-DCPS schools that made the nation’s Top 100 are:

  • #73 Jose Marti Mast 6-12 Academy

  • #74 Marine Academy of Science and Technology (MAST@FIU)

  • #97 Design and Architecture Senior High School (DASH)

  • #100 TERRA Environmental Research Institute

At the state level, Jose Marti Mast, MAST@FIU, DASH, and TERRA also landed within Florida’s top 11 high schools, joined by other standout M-DCPS institutions including Young Women’s Preparatory Academy (#13), Maritime & Science Technology Academy (#15), International Studies Preparatory Academy (#16), and iPreparatory Academy (#24).

“These national rankings reflect M-DCPS’s unwavering commitment to excellence, choice, innovation, and safety,” the district said in a statement.
