Four adults were hospitalized Friday evening after a boat slammed into a seawall along the Intracoastal Waterway in Fort Lauderdale, according to Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue.

The crash occurred around 7:30 p.m. near the Commercial Boulevard bridge and Northeast 42nd Street, in the area of Bayview Drive. Officials said the boat’s operator lost control, causing the vessel to strike the seawall and eject all four occupants into the water.

Emergency crews responded swiftly, with Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue transporting all four individuals to area hospitals. One victim was taken to a trauma center with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, while two others sustained minor injuries. A fourth person was treated for injuries related to a near-drowning incident.
