According to the AATT, emergency response protocols were activated immediately. Firefighters from the Piarco Fire Station, supported by units from the Arima Fire Station, managed to bring the situation under control. Operations resumed once clearance was granted by the Trinidad and Tobago Fire Service and the Trinidad and Tobago Civil Aviation Authority.
The AATT did not specify how many flights were affected but said it continues to work closely with stakeholders to ensure a safe and secure return to full operations.
