LAUDERHILL, FL — The unmistakable sound of cricket will once again echo through Broward County Stadium as Cricket West Indies (CWI) officially announces the return of international cricket to Florida with a three-match T20 International (T20I) series between West Indies and Pakistan, scheduled for Thursday, July 31; Saturday, August 2; and Sunday, August 3, 2025.

All matches are set to begin at 8:00 PM local time, under the bright lights and vibrant atmosphere that South Florida has become known for.

This ICC-sanctioned series is more than a sporting event — it is a cultural celebration and a testament to the growing influence of cricket across the United States. With South Florida continuing to emerge as a dynamic hub for the sport, this series brings together two of the game’s most passionate and storied teams for what promises to be an unforgettable spectacle.

A commitment to cricket’s global expansion

For CWI, the Florida series is part of a broader vision — one that sees the Caribbean taking the lead in expanding cricket’s global footprint.

“Cricket West Indies (CWI) is proud to once again bring international cricket to Florida,” said CWI CEO Chris Dehring. “These matches are more than just a contest between two top international teams – they are part of our ongoing commitment to growing and globalizing the game, particularly in a region where the passion for cricket runs deep within a vibrant and proud Caribbean diaspora."

Dehring emphasized CWI’s unique position in the hemisphere as the only full ICC member nation, highlighting the responsibility to support and steward the sport’s development in North America:

“We see it as our responsibility... to help shepherd the development of cricket in the United States, and bringing international cricket to Florida is certainly an ideal platform for the execution of that mission. We can’t wait to see the stands packed, especially by our West Indian family in the Diaspora, and the energy in full force.”

A cultural carnival: Where sport meets celebration

Cricket in Lauderhill is more than bat and ball — it’s a living, breathing celebration of culture, rhythm, and community. Each match transforms the stadium into a kaleidoscope of colors and sounds, with flags from across the Caribbean and South Asia waving proudly, the beat of drums and conch shells rising in unison with chants and cheers.

Local food trucks will line the venue, serving up island and South Asian culinary favorites, ensuring that fans not only experience world-class cricket but also indulge in the rich traditions that shape this diverse cricket-loving community.

Lauderhill: A proud cricket capital

Hosting this global series is a point of pride for Lauderhill’s leadership.

“Lauderhill has proudly welcomed some of the biggest cricket teams and players in the world to our city,” said Mayor Denise Grant. “These games bring millions of eyes to our community and highlight the incredible diversity that makes Lauderhill special. We’re honored to host this international series and to continue playing a role in cricket’s expansion across the United States.”

Her sentiments were echoed by Broward County Commissioner Hazelle Rogers, who underscored the economic and cultural impact:

“This series is a win for our local economy, our multicultural communities, and our status as a destination for global sports and cultural events. Broward is proud to host world-class cricket, and we look forward to seeing fans fill the stadium later this month.”
