FIFA bans CFU president, Gordon Derrick

The global soccer body - FIFA, has banned the president of the Caribbean Football Union (CFU), Gordon Derrik for six years from all soccer-related activities, for violating several articles of its code of ethics.

 

According to FIFA, the case against Derrick focused on “alleged conflicts of interest offering and accepting gifts and other benefits, mismanagement of funds, abuse of position and disloyalty.”

 

Derrick, who is also the General Secretary of the Antigua and Barbuda Football Association (ABFA), was also ordered to pay a fine totaling US$31,170.
