Vybz Kartel has added another international accolade to his catalog after the single was officially certified Gold in the United Kingdom by the British Phonographic Industry on July 3. The certification recognizes more than 400,000 combined sales and streaming-equivalent units in the UK, making it Kartel's first Gold-certified single in the British market.

Originally released in 2016 as the lead single from his album King of the Dancehall, "Fever" was produced by TJ Records while Kartel was serving a prison sentence. Despite the circumstances surrounding its release, the song quickly became one of the deejay's signature tracks, dominating clubs, parties and playlists.

The latest milestone adds to the song's list of achievements. "Fever" received Silver certification in the UK in 2023 after surpassing 200,000 units before doubling that figure to earn Gold status this year. It was also certified Gold in the United States by the Recording Industry Association of America in 2025, making it one of the most commercially successful dancehall songs of its era.

As of July 2026, "Fever" has amassed approximately 147 million Spotify streams, making it Kartel's most-streamed dancehall song on the platform, while its official audio and music video have generated more than 100 million combined views on YouTube.

Written with Kartel's blend of romance and swagger, "Fever" showcased a softer, more melodic side of the self-described "Worl' Boss" and became a crossover favorite among longtime dancehall fans and newer international listeners.

The UK Gold certification comes during a significant period in Kartel's career. Since regaining his freedom in 2024, the deejay has returned to international touring, released new music and continued expanding his global reach.
