CWI leaders express gratitude for fans’ support in heartfelt Christmas messages

Cricket West Indies President Dr. Kishore Shallow, along with the respective captains of the senior West Indies cricket teams, expressed their gratitude to the region for its steadfast support and called for unity in the upcoming year.

In their Christmas greetings shared on the social networking platform Instagram, Shallow conveyed warm wishes and appreciation for fans around the world and in the Caribbean.

"Greetings cricket enthusiasts from every corner of the world and to our beloved fans nestled in the heart of the Caribbean," Shallow began. "As we step into this enchanting holiday season, I extend heartfelt wishes to each of you. From the entire Cricket West Indies family, warm wishes for a Merry Christmas and a flourishing New Year. Thank you for your unwavering support."

Test captain Kraigg Brathwaite, whose team secured just one victory in six matches this year, also expressed gratitude to the region for its support. "We extend our sincere gratitude for your unwavering support this past year. It has been invaluable to us," noted the 31-year-old.

Exhilarating cricket moments

White-ball captains Shai Hope and Rovman Powell, along with white-ball head coach Darren Sammy, extended season's greetings to the region. Hope, who leads the One-Day International side, encouraged unity and joy, saying, "Beyond the glittering festivities and sumptuous feasts, let us embrace the essence of unity, joy, and treasured moments with our dear ones."

Powell, who oversees the Twenty20 International unit, raised a toast to a new year filled with exhilarating cricket moments and incredible memories. Sammy, a two-time former T20 World Cup-winning captain, wished for boundless joy, prosperity, and companionship during this time.

Hayley Matthews, the West Indies Women's captain, highlighted the importance of love, peace, and harmony off the field during this season, drawing parallels with the spirit of cricket played on the field.
