Cricket West Indies (CWI) is set to embark on a major restructuring, with new senior leadership roles being filled and the search for a new chief executive officer (CEO) to commence in a fortnight, following the impending departure of current CEO Johnny Grave.

These developments include the upcoming appointment of a chief operating officer (COO) and a chief commercial officer (CCO), both of whom have already been selected and are expected to assume their roles on October 1.

In a statement during CWI's quarterly press conference, President Dr. Kishore Shallow disclosed that with Johnny Grave’s tenure as CEO coming to an end in October, the process to identify his successor will begin within the next two weeks. "We will initiate the recruitment process for a new CEO shortly, within the next two weeks or so," Dr. Shallow confirmed.

Structural changes within the organization

In addition to the CEO search, Dr. Shallow highlighted the structural changes within the organization, including the establishment of a COO position. "We have introduced a chief operations officer role, and we anticipate that the chosen candidate will commence duties on October 1," he elaborated.

Moreover, the position traditionally known as the commercial director will be replaced with the newly designated title of chief commercial officer, aligning CWI with contemporary standards seen in similar organizations. “We’ve appointed an individual to this role who brings a wealth of experience, having worked with the International Cricket Council (ICC) and other distinguished entities,” Dr. Shallow noted, adding that the identity of this individual will be revealed in the coming weeks.

The CWI's communications department is also expanding, with the recent appointment of Nyssa Pierre as the new communications and media manager. Dr. Shallow mentioned that two additional media officers will be joining the team within the next two weeks, further bolstering the organization's outreach capabilities.
