CWI confirms Shamar Joseph’s departure from Sri Lanka Tour for personal reasons

West Indies fast bowler Shamar Joseph is heading back to Guyana from the current Sri Lanka tour due to personal reasons, according to a statement released by Cricket West Indies (CWI) on Thursday.

With only one One-Day International (ODI)  left in the series, set for Saturday, CWI confirmed that no replacement will be named, as the squad will return to the Caribbean shortly after the final game.

Joseph, 25, was not part of the ODI line-up, but he did participate in the preceding T20 series, where he picked up two wickets for 88 runs across his nine overs in three matches. With the ODI series already clinched by Sri Lanka, leading 2-0, the West Indies team will complete the tour without Joseph before their imminent return.
