For 22 years, Curaçao had waited for another moment like this.

That wait finally ended with a dominant performance on the biggest stage in youth baseball, as the tiny Caribbean island nation overwhelmed Nevada 11-2 to capture its second Little League World Series championship and its first since 2004.

With a population of fewer than 200,000 people, Curaçao entered the championship carrying the hopes of an island that has long considered itself a Little League powerhouse.

Nevada strikes first, but Curaçao answers in a hurry
