Walker brings experience across sustainable tourism, cultural development, strategic communications, events, research and stakeholder engagement. She has worked in public, private and institutional settings, giving her experience across different areas of the Caribbean tourism and cultural landscape.
Her professional background also includes project coordination, program development, event management and initiatives supporting the region’s creative and tourism industries.
Walker holds a master’s degree in Cultural Studies from The University of the West Indies and is currently completing a Master of Science in Tourism and Sports Management at UWI Cave Hill.
Her areas of interest include sustainable and inclusive tourism, destination development and the potential for tourism to generate broader economic and social benefits.
In her new position, Walker will contribute to CTO initiatives aimed at strengthening sustainable tourism practices and supporting destination development across the Caribbean.
The appointment comes as Caribbean destinations increasingly focus on balancing tourism growth with climate resilience, environmental protection and greater economic benefits for local communities.
CTO, headquartered in Barbados, represents tourism interests across the Caribbean and works with member countries and industry partners on tourism development, marketing, research and regional cooperation.
