Track and field coach Marlon James, recently terminated from St. Catherine High School, has been arrested and charged by the Centre for Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse (CISOCA) with grievous sexual assault of a minor and sexual touching, as reported by Radio Jamaica Sports.

Head of CISOCA, Senior Superintendent (SSP) Maldria Jones-Williams, confirmed the charges were filed against James on Tuesday, and he was accompanied by his attorney, Patrick Peterkin, to the Spanish Town Police station. James was scheduled to appear before the St. Catherine Parish Court on Friday.

This development follows an earlier report that CISOCA had initiated an investigation into allegations of sexual assault involving a coach and a minor at an undisclosed school. The investigation began after an official report from the parent of the underage student-athlete and the school's principal. The principal confirmed that the coach was not a teacher at the institution and stated that the coach had been dismissed.
