Popular American rapper Rick Ross and English/Albanian singer Dua Lipa recently visited Jamaica and expressed love for the Caribbean island.
Rick Ross, whose real name is William Leonard Roberts II, posted several videos on Instagram of his experience rafting on the White River attraction on Easter Monday.
This followed his performance at the Sandz Caribbean Music Festival at Plantation Cove in St Ann on Sunday.
Ross recently expressed his passion for Jamaica at a virtual Sandz Press Conference, highlighting that he wanted to visit and perform his music as well as experience the “real Jamaica vibe.”
"As soon as I get there I wanna land and go to the best fish spot. I told them the next day I wanna go water rafting, I want to eat some real curry chicken, some oxtail… yes, me want to live life, me only have one life fi live,” he said before his visit.
Meanwhile, popular English/Albanian singer and songwriter Dua Lipa recently vacationed at the exclusive Goldeneye resort in Oracabessa Bay in St. Mary, Jamaica.
The singer shared several photos on Instagram, showing off her “calm and stress-free” trip on the Caribbean island. She also shared her wardrobe choices, which included bikinis and crochet. Her photos included herself basking in Jamaican beauty and culture.
“After a very hectic start to the year, I was keen to take some time out and was lucky enough to spend a couple of weeks at Golden Eye Hotel in Jamaica this month,” Dua Lipa shared in a recent media interview.
“Oh my gosh, what an experience it was,” the Grammy-winning artiste added.
Her walks along the island’s beaches, the sweet-sounding reggae music, and the delectable Caribbean flavors made her “revitalized and ready to take on what the rest of the year has to offer,” she said.
She even made special mention of some spots, which she recommends to those who plan to travel to the island. These include Jakes Treasure Beach Hotel, Kingston Dub Club, Boston Jerk Centre, Scotchies, and the Bob Marley Museum, which she says is an “unmissable experience on the site of the legendary musician’s home.”
