Celebrating 110 years: Miami's Lyric Theater marks a momentous milestone

The Black Archives Historic Lyric Theater in Miami is set to honor its 110-year journey at its renowned location on 819 NW 2nd Ave, scheduled for November 18, 2023.

“The Crown of Overtown”: A tribute to a timeless legacy 


Dubbed “The Crown of Overtown,” the commemorative event not only marks a significant time stamp but also pays homage to the theater’s multifaceted role in Miami’s African American community.

Since its inauguration in 1913, the Lyric Theater has evolved from a major community hub to a vaudeville playhouse, transitioning into a movie theater and subsequently serving as a place of worship.
