Caribbean clubs clash for inaugural title, Champions Cup spots

CONCACAF has officially unveiled the schedule and matchups for the 2023 CONCACAF Caribbean Cup semi-finals, featuring four Caribbean clubs vying for the inaugural championship.

This competition, which spans two legs, is a significant stepping stone in the path to the 2024 CONCACAF Champions Cup. The two home-and-away series are scheduled for October 24-26 (first legs) and October 31 – November 2, 2023 (second legs). After a rigorous Group Stage involving 10 clubs from August to October, the top clubs from each group have advanced to the Knockout stage. The four clubs that have progressed to this stage are Cavalier FC from Jamaica, Moca FC from the Dominican Republic from Group A; SV Robinhood from Suriname and Harbour View FC from Jamaica out of Group B. The Knockout Stage includes the semi-finals, Third Place Series, and the Final, with the ultimate champion securing a spot in the 2024 CONCACAF Champions Cup Round of 6. The runners-up and Third Place finisher will also advance but will enter at Round One.

Cavalier face Harbour View as SV Robinhood take on Moca

The Semi-final matchups are determined by the Group Stage standings, with the group winners facing the second-place finishers. The two Semi-final matchups are as follows:

Semi-final 1: Cavalier FC vs Harbour View FC and Semi-final 2: SV Robinhood vs Moca FC.

For the Semi-finals, the two group winners will host the return leg matches. In contrast, for the Third Place Series and Final, the highest-ranked clubs, based on their total accumulated points in the competition, will host the return-leg matches. The current standings are as follows:

SV Robinhood (9 points, +4 goal difference)

Moca FC (9 points, +3 goal difference)

Harbour View FC (7 points, +1 goal difference)

First leg matches:

Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at 20:00 (19:00) Harbour View FC vs Cavalier FC at Sabina Park in Kingston, Jamaica

Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at 18:00 (18:00) Moca FC vs SV Robinhood at Estadio Moca 85, Moca, Dominican Republic

Second leg matches:

Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at 20:00 (19:00) Cavalier FC vs Harbour FC at Sabina Park in Kingston, Jamaica

Thursday, November 2, 2023, at 20:00 (21:00) SV Robinhood vs Moca FC at Franklin Essed Stadion, Paramaribo, Suriname

Following the Semi-finals, the winners from each matchup will advance to the 2023 CONCACAF Caribbean Cup Final, where the first-ever Caribbean Cup champion will be crowned. The Final and Third Place Series are scheduled for November 28-30 (first legs) and December 5-7 (second legs).
