Caribbean Airlines, Guyana Tourism Authority partner to expand career outreach to students

Caribbean Airlines has partnered with the Guyana Tourism Authority (GTA) to bring its Career Caravan education outreach programme to secondary school students in Guyana as part of the airline’s ongoing sustainability efforts.
The initiative coincided with the airline's third anniversary of its Sustainability Programme, which was launched on June 3, 2023, and focuses on community development and youth empowerment across the Caribbean.
Through the partnership, Caribbean Airlines and the GTA visited four secondary schools in East Coast and East Bank Demerara from May 28 to 29, shortly after Guyana’s 60th Independence Diamond Jubilee celebrations. Renatha Marshall, Caribbean Airlines’ Country Manager for Guyana and Suriname, said the initiative reflects the airline’s commitment to engaging young people and preparing future leaders.
“Our young people are an important demographic for Caribbean Airlines. It is therefore essential that we engage and connect with them as the next generation of leaders, and our Career Caravan education outreach programme provides a meaningful platform to achieve this objective,” Marshall said.
She also thanked the Guyana Tourism Authority for its partnership and expressed appreciation to the Ministry of Education in Guyana for facilitating the engagement with students.
The Career Caravan is a flagship initiative under the education pillar of Caribbean Airlines’ Sustainability Programme. Since its launch, the programme has reached more than 137,000 students throughout the Caribbean, according to the airline.
Caribbean Airlines said the collaboration demonstrates the importance of partnerships, volunteerism and community engagement, principles that have guided its sustainability efforts over the past three years.
As the airline marks the anniversary of the programme throughout June, it said it remains committed to creating educational opportunities, strengthening communities and investing in the future of the region.
