The Broward Sheriff’s Office raided a Southwest Ranches home rented by Jamaican-American singer and rapper Sean Kingston, arresting his mother on multiple fraud and theft charges.

Officials accuse Kingston, whose real name is Kisean Paul Anderson, of failing to pay for a $150,000 entertainment system.

According to a civil complaint obtained from the Broward Clerk of Courts, Ver Ver Entertainment claims Kingston, 34, partially paid for a 232-inch television and entertainment system but never completed the payment after installation.

The complaint further alleges that Kingston used his celebrity status to scam people out of products and services without paying.

Dennis Card, an attorney for Ver Ver Entertainment, was present during the raid.

“He said that he works with Justin Bieber and that he, obviously, puts on a big show here, this is a rental house, he doesn’t own it,” said Card. “And he lures people using his celebrity into having them release things without having him pay for it and then he simply never pays.”

Employees of Ver Ver Entertainment were at the house on Thursday to remove the equipment.

Card mentioned that he had known about the raid for months and that BSO is seeking to expand their search warrant to other parts of Anderson’s home.

“He is stealing the property itself,” Card said. “He has a standardized script that he gives people, which is that he’s a recording artist, that he’s certainly is, and that he wants to purchase these things, but he never pays for anything. He gets the stuff, and that’s the end of the story. He does it over and over and over.”

Singer's mother arrested

During the raid, BSO arrested Anderson’s mother, Janice Turner, 61, who was seen in handcuffs outside the house. Anderson was not present during the raid and is believed to be in Los Angeles for a performance.

Sean Kingston posted a statement on his Instagram Story that reads “People love negative energy! I am good and so is my mother!.. my lawyers are handling everything as we speak.”

BSO Dania Beach District detectives, along with members of BSO’s Strategic Investigations Unit and the Davie Police SWAT unit, executed the search and arrest warrants. They entered the garage, removing more items and towing vehicles.
