Broward County Transit (BCT) will join in the festivities of this year's Lauderdale-By-The-Sea July 4th Parade celebration.

Broward County Mayor Lamar Fisher will serve as Grand Marshal. The parade will travel south on Bougainvilla Drive, east along Pine Avenue, then south on El Mar Drive to Hibiscus Avenue from 10-11 AM.

Watch for BCT's patriotic electric bus as the Bus Operator of the Month, Larry Target drives along the parade route. He will be escorted by County employees and leadership, who will be passing out giveaways.

Once the parade ends, attendees can then continue the celebration at El Prado Park, 4500 El Mar Drive, Lauderdale-By-The-Sea, 33308 for Family Fun Day.

This year's Family Fun Day takes place from 11 AM to 2 PM and will include face painting, live performances, a giant water slide, treats, and more.

At 9 PM, there will be a fireworks show on the beach to close out the celebration.

To accommodate the parade, BCT's Route 11 bus and Route 55 bus will detour on Tuesday, July 4 from 9 AM to 11:30 AM. The remaining routes will operate on a Sunday schedule.

Route 11:

  • NORTHBOUND:  From northbound on N. Ocean Drive/A1A, buses will turn west on Commercial Boulevard to US 1/Federal Highway; north on US 1/Federal Highway to Atlantic Boulevard; east on Atlantic Boulevard to N. Ocean Drive/A1A and continue the regular route.

  • SOUTHBOUND:  Buses will travel the reverse route.

Route 55:

  • EASTBOUND: From eastbound on Commercial Boulevard, buses will turn south on Bayview Drive to Oakland Park Boulevard; east on Oakland Park Boulevard to N. Ocean Drive/A1A, and continue the regular route.

  • WESTBOUND: Buses will travel the reverse route.

If you are planning to attend the festivities, BCT can take you there safely and conveniently, without the hassle of trying to find parking. Although Routes 11 and 55 will detour, they will still run very close to the parade route.
