Broward Commissioner Alexandra P. Davis awards $2M for affordable housing in Miramar

In a strong show of advocacy and community investment, Broward County District 7 Commissioner Alexandra P. Davis presented a $2 million ceremonial check to the City of Miramar to support ParcView at Miramar—a new affordable housing development set to provide much-needed relief for local residents.

Davis's presentation took place during a recent Miramar City Commission meeting. The moment was not only symbolic of much-needed investment, but also deeply personal for Commissioner Davis, who formerly served as Vice Mayor for the City of Miramar.

“Affordable housing is not just a buzzword—it’s a growing crisis that affects working families, veterans, seniors, and everyday residents,” said Davis. “As your County Commissioner, I have been steadfast in making sure cities like Miramar receive the resources they need to thrive.”

The $2 million grant, part of a larger $31.7 million investment, will help close the funding gap for ParcView at Miramar. The new development will consist of 66 two-story townhomes, offering two- and three-bedroom options across four unit types. Homes will range from 1,200 to 1,500 square feet and feature amenities such as walk-out balconies, garages, private backyards, and modern designs. Miramar Commissioners broke ground on the development in January.

Commissioner Davis's remarks emphasized collaboration between local and county governments, citing the initiative as an example of what can be achieved when municipalities and county elected officials work together.

Commissioner Davis closed her remarks by saying, “Let this serve as a reminder: when we lead with compassion and purpose, we can build communities that truly work for everyone.”
