Missing 18-year-old Linnon “LJ” Latham was found dead in a lake, according to authorities in South Florida.

The Miramar Police Department said Latham was last seen alive Tuesday night at around 11:30 p.m. near Vizcaya Park.

Friday morning, police said Latham’s body was found in the Vizcaya area.

“It is with a heavy heart that we announce the search for Linnon ‘LJ’ Latham has come to a close,” the police department said.

Since the report was released, Latham’s mother has expressed her deep sadness on social media. Local government officials, such as Miramar Mayor Wayne Messam and Miramar City Commissioner Alexandra Davis, along with American celebrities Rick Ross and Yung Miami, and Jamaican celebrities Yendi Phillips and Lila Ike, and many well-wishers across the South Florida community, flooded her with an outpouring of support.

According to authorities, no foul play is suspected, but the Broward County Medical Examiner’s Office is still slated to determine the cause of Latham’s death.
